Phillip & Laura’s New Zealand DIY Wedding was a wonderful celebration of over a decade of love and friendship from these high school sweethearts. It was beautiful to see them celebrating what they had together and how much more they have ahead. Set against a backdrop of wild West Coast scenery with crazy wild weather to boot, a whole lot of love and great planning brought this wonderful day together. It has had to be one of my favourite weddings this year. The ceremony was meant to be in Laura's parents botanical garden, matching the botanical theme of the day, but knowing you can never trust Auckland’s weather they set up some clear marquees from Silver Fern Marquees. This created what turned out to be a warm glasshouse vibe. Just in time as what had been a warm dry week decided to become a full blown tropical storm. I loved the meticulous planning that evidently went into the details of this wedding, from the masses of suspended foliage to the hand stamped copper bracelets. Laura also made her own stunning vintage inspired beaded wedding dress herself, which really tied the whole theme together. The day ended in such a special way, a surprise for their guests, making what had been an extraordinary day even more wonderful. They announced that they were having their first child and were 12 weeks pregnant!!
